Hi! I'm Maryam Aly, the founder of Amenti Edge. I'm a seasoned engineering leader and backend specialist with over a decade of experience building high-performing teams and shipping complex systems. I've led engineering organizations through hyper-growth, corporate mergers, and even a pandemic—always with a focus on transparency, trust, and thoughtful collaboration.

At companies like Monzo, Foursquare, and Google, I've built and managed web, mobile, and backend teams across fintech, health tech, and consumer platforms. Along the way, I've consistently been recognized for cultivating high-trust environments where engineers feel supported, heard, and empowered to grow. My feedback and leadership frameworks have been adopted across multiple teams and disciplines.

I've been working with JVM languages since 2007, and have written over 100,000 lines of Java and Scala in production systems. My experience spans distributed data systems, type-safe API design, and system migrations. I've spoken at the Northeast Scala Symposium, and shared insights on how to catch more bugs at compile time using phantom types and implicits—a passion I first explored in a blog post that's still referenced by engineers today.
